Adjunct Faculty Open Rank - Sociology

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Behavioral Science at Kingsborough Community College seeks candidates to teach undergraduate courses within the discipline of Sociology. The successful candidate will have completed significant coursework, research and/or professional experience in the area of sociology, public policy and/or the non-profit community development arena. The candidate must be able to teach in-person classes at the main Kingsborough campus as well as possible satellite locations in Brooklyn. Innovative teaching and/or curriculum development a plus.

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree required in Sociology and/or a closely related field required. Ph.D. preferred.

For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

For Adjunct Lecturer:

Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.

COMPENSATION

Adjunct Lecturer: $91.67 - $98.40 per hour

Adjunct Assistant Professor: $100.00 - $106.41 per hour

Adjunct Associate Professor: $108.33 - $118.45 per hour

Adjunct Professor: $112.50 - $130.49 per hour
