PRIMARY DUTY: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants who can serve as Adjunct Faculty in Political Science.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Teach online Introduction to American Government & Politics, a General Education course;
2. Teach online upper division Political Science courses in Revolutions & Social Movements, Criminal Law & Procedure, Rights of the Accused, American Federalism, et. al.;
3. Collaborate with campus faculty;
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Master’s degree in Political Science

Experience: Prior experience in online instruction in Political Science

Skills: Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills; interpersonal skills, including oral communication and collaboration; committed to a focus on student success

WORKING CONDITIONS: The position entails online instruction in upper division Political Science courses typically ranging from 15 to 30 students. Faculty maintain regular virtual office hours to support students.

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Online courses are offered using Canvas, Northwest's Learning Management System.
