Job Description

The Department of Philosophy & Religion in the Shaheen College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Indianapolis is seeking an Adjunct in Religion beginning in August 2025. The ability to teach Monday evenings in person is required. The successful candidate will teach a section of REL 110 World Religions. Opportunity for rehire in Winter 2026 available based on demand and department needs.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience
  • Ability to teach in-person class meetings on Monday evenings is required
  • A record of successful teaching or having completed a teaching practicum required
  • Commitment to supporting all students, including first-generation and historically marginalized students preferred
  • Education
  • M.A. in Religious Studies or related field required, ABD or PhD preferred

  • Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.
