Position Vacancy - Onground Adjunct Instructor for EDUC 860: Assessment and Instruction in Teaching Literacy to Children with Language and Learning Disabilities
Bank Street College, Graduate School of Education, is looking for an Onground Adjunct instructor for the following course to be taught Spring 2026, on-campus.
Dates: January 20 2026 - May 5 2026
Schedule: Thursdays, 7:00-9:00pm
Course: EDUC 860: Assessment and Instruction in Teaching Literacy to Children with Language and Learning Disabilities, 3 credits
This course integrates research, theory, and practice as participants learn about supporting literacy development for children with reading, writing, and language disabilities within a developmental framework. The course explores the iterative relationship between assessment and intervention and critically examines a range of evidence-based methods and materials in use in the field. Participants apply their learning as they work over multiple sessions with a child.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in literacy, special education, or related field required. Doctorate preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in the field supporting literacy development for children with a range of learning needs and abilities, required.
- Experience teaching children from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds in public school contexts, preferred.
- Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferred.
