Adjunct Instructor
Job Description
Gogebic Community College is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct instructor/contracted positions to deliver courses within the Lead with Excellence Series, a workforce development leadership training program serving regional employers and professionals.
Courses may be delivered at GCC campuses, on-site at healthcare organizations, through virtual platforms or MWTEC Consortium. Scheduling is flexible and may include daytime, evening, or customized training sessions based on employer needs. Compensation will be determined on a contract-by-contract basis, commensurate with the scope of work, qualifications, and instructional requirements.
This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging, high-quality instruction for leadership and supervision training courses (CED277 Supervision and/or CED278 Leadership).
- Deliver curriculum covering topics such as communication, team dynamics, conflict resolution, performance management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Adapt instructional delivery to meet the needs of diverse adult learners, including entrylevel supervisors through experienced leaders.
- Incorporate real-world examples, case studies, and interactive activities to enhance learning outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback and support to participants to encourage skill development and application.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and course outcomes as required.
- Communicate clearly with program coordinators and employer partners regarding course progress and participant engagement.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in leadership and workforce development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business, management, leadership, education, or a related field (Masters preferred).
- Relevant professional experience in leadership, supervision, management, or organizational development.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and instruct adult learners in a professional training environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching, training, or facilitation experience (especially with adult learners).
- Experience delivering workforce or corporate training programs.
- Experience with virtual instruction platforms.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time, contracted instructor position with flexible scheduling.
- Instructors may teach one or both courses within the series based on expertise.
- Workforce Development instructors may be engaged on a contractual basis for specific training offerings. These engagements are project-based and do not imply ongoing employment with the College.
