General Summary: Middlesex Community College seeks to fill part-time math faculty positions for in-person lecture beginning the fall 2025 semester. The College's part-time math faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community. The College is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals that have expertise in this area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction for a group of up to 28 students in a classroom
- Ability to instruct in at least one of the following courses: statistics, math for liberal arts, and precalculus for business
- Develop and use student-centered pedagogies
- Develop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomes
- Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities
- Develop and apply technology in and out of the classroom
- Use Blackboard Learning Management System to post syllabi, assignments, and grades
- Fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council/Massachusetts Teachers Association
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education or closely related field
- Classroom teaching of high school or college math courses
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies and use of technology to support student learning
- Willingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staff
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education
- Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Blackboard LMS, and PC
