Position Summary
The Adolescence Education program at SUNY Cortland is accepting applications to fill potential part-time adjunct faculty openings for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Major Responsibilities
A classroom based 3 credit hour course pays $5500 per class. The department typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department. ILLUSTRATIVE NEEDS INCLUDE:
AED 391: Introduction to Adolescence Education
AED 600: Introduction to Adolescence Education
Note: AED 600 is a required course in the Master of Science in Teaching (MST) in Adolescence Education, which is offered fully online.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Reports to the academic department chair.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree preferred.
Teaching experience in grades 7-12 in at least one of the following areas:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Earth Science
- English
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Social Studies
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of NYS certification requirements in at least one of the following areas:
- Biology (Grades 7 – 12)
- Chemistry (Grades 7 – 12)
- Earth Science (Grades 7 – 12)
- English Language Arts (Grades 7 – 12)
- Mathematics (Grades 7 – 12)
- Physics (Grades 7 – 12)
- Social Studies (Grades 7 – 12)
