Overview: Bowie State University, a distinguished Historically Black College/University ( HBCU ), is seeking highly qualified Adjunct Professors to join Bowie’s Prison Education Program ( BPEP ). This innovative program is a pioneering initiative that offers incarcerated individuals at the Jessup Correctional Institution in Jessup, Maryland, the opportunity to pursue higher education and earn a degree while serving their sentences. Specifically, BPEP offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology to students in the program; as such, they must also fulfill all general education requirements (e.g. math, science, history, government, philosophy, and more). Therefore, we are looking for Adjunct Professors across various disciplines to facilitate a broad range of courses.
