Administrative Assistant and Target Language Expert
The Administrative Assistant is an essential team member of the Division, working with divisional students, faculty, and staff. The position reports to the Divisional Dean.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Provide support for the Humanities departments, as well as the All-College Honors Program and Intellectual Foundations Program
- Serve as a liaison for the international teaching assistants in the Target Language Expert (TLE) program, including coordinating onboarding and helping TLEs navigate campus supports and offices
- Perform daily clerical tasks, including routine correspondence, scheduling appointments, purchasing office supplies, and other duties as assigned.
- Process budget items such as invoices, check requests, etc. and maintain accurate expense sheets for department chairs
- Supervise a small number of student workers, assigning tasks to assist faculty and departments
- Provide support for special projects such as the Divisional Honor Celebration and the Visiting Writers series
- Coordinate searches, when needed, to fill faculty positions
- Additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Dean
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; additional experience in higher education preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, students, student workers, faculty members, guests and the public.
- The ability to use a personal computer and Web browser, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Google Systems, and ZOOM. Experience with Workday systems is beneficial.
- Requires the ability to work collegially in a team-oriented environment.
