Job Summary:
The Dental Faculty Practice (DFP) is seeking an Administrative Assistant III to support the DFP front desk administrative operations in the Dental Faculty Practice. The School of Dental Medicine Dental Faculty Practice operates as a private practice for SDM faculty. The purpose of the work unit is to provide state-of-the-art dental services to patients of the Anschutz Medical Campus and general community through an education experience where Dental students deliver contemporary dental services.
We are seeking professionals who are looking to develop their careers in clinical office administration and/or looking to gain experience and understanding of full-cycle dental patient life-cycles. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need but typically will be Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring comprehensive scheduling of patients per faculty member based on individual treatment plans and other needs.
- Develops and maintains standardized patient access workflows for check-in, registration and scheduling to support efficient operations
- Responsible for calculating and collecting payments from patients for planned, in process, or completed treatment
- Verifies patient and insurance information, while accurately documenting necessary modifications into the Electronic Health Record (EPIC or Axium).
- Responsible for checking all messages and taking action when necessary to adjust, modify or cancel appointments
- Handle patient inquiries by interpreting and applying dental school and clinic policies and provide information
- Securely store and handle records in compliance with legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position + Substitution: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a Medical or Dental office.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
- Computer skills: axiUM, EPIC
- MS Office: Outlook, Power Point, Word.

- Ability to think critically and make decisive judgements
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including physicians, leadership, and staff.
- Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate in person, by phone, or in writing.
- Ability to attest to computer proficiency and learn new computer applications.
- Ability to keyboard/type, write legibly, and accurately record information.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Ability to organize workflow with particular focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Conditions of Employment:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification or within 90-days of hire.
- Maintains all required licensure and certifications for position.
- Must be able to work in-person.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $49,400-$59,774
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
