Position Description
Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
About the Department and/or College
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and operational support for the RISE (Risk Intervention and Safety Education) department. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient daily operations, supporting departmental programs, and assisting students and staff with administrative processes.
Major/Essential Functions
- Reconcile departmental purchasing card (P-Card) transactions, ensuring accurate documentation, coding, and timely submission of expenses in accordance with university policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the department by answering incoming phone calls, responding to general inquiries, and directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Assist with processing hiring paperwork for full-time employees and student assistants, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in accordance with university procedures.
- Coordinate key requests and access for departmental staff.
- Oversee departmental property management, including tracking inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper assignment and accountability of university assets.
- Assist with reviewing and processing hold removals for students who have completed the required RISE educational modules.
- Manage and maintain the departmental calendar of events, including scheduling presentations, outreach programs, and internal meetings.
- Provide general administrative support to departmental staff, including organizing files, maintaining records, and assisting with routine office tasks.
- Support the coordination of departmental events and programming as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
- Perform additional administrative duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a higher education or student affairs setting.
Pay Range
$17.69 - $22.98 - $28.32
