Administrative Assistant to Advising/Counseling
Job Description
The administrative assistant provides administrative and daily office management for the Advising and Counseling staff and the Dean of Student Success. This individual will provide reception, event scheduling, clerical support, website maintenance, vendor relations, and other duties as required to support the functioning of the area. The assistant will also support the Dean of Student Success by running reports and tracking campaigns as needed to ensure the success of initiatives.
Salary Range
$ 20.32 - $25.41 / hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, welcoming, courteous, and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
- Knowledge and skill in word processing sufficient to perform functions using software such as Microsoft Word to produce memos, correspondence, and reports in an efficient and timely manner.
- Knowledge and skills in data entry/spreadsheets sufficient to perform functions accurately using software such as Microsoft Excel to develop and modify spreadsheets from a variety of sources.
- Database Management sufficient to perform data entry and database maintenance.
- Knowledge of math sufficient to apply equations and if/then formula logic, add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, calculate percentages, and use simple formulas.
- English skills sufficient to speak, read and write English.
- Physical Demands sufficient to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods of time, sit for long periods of time, manual dexterity required for constant keying.
Preferred Qualification
- Associates degree or higher
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines on simultaneous projects.
- Experience working with diverse clientele
