Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative, clerical, and customer service support for the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
- Process financial transactions, maintain departmental budget records, and support budget planning and tracking activities.
- Support faculty, staff, and students with departmental operations, purchasing, and reimbursement processes.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of student employees and tutoring center staff.
- Maintain departmental records, prepare reports, manage surveys and data collection efforts, and support assessment and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate departmental events, meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and visitor travel arrangements.
- Assist with website updates, departmental communications, and marketing-related activities.
- Coordinate office operations, including facilities requests, inventory management, supply ordering, key distribution, and records management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for departmental inquiries, responding professionally to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative or office setting.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and computer skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Strong team-oriented work ethic.
- Strong self-motivation and willingness to take on multiple tasks.
Compensation
Salary: $21.00 - $23.50 per year. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
