Job Description Summary

The Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support the daily functioning of the Center and its activities. The Center provides specialized research, consulting and training services to organizations attempting to positively impact human behavior. We work with organizations around the world, and the Administrative Coordinator would support a wide range of our activities as they continue to grow.

Job Description

The Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics is a major research center at the University of Pennsylvania, which aims to support positive behaviors on a global scale, across both informal and organizational settings. The Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics has undertaken a range of projects with different partner organizations around the world by leveraging our expertise in measuring behavior, analyzing behavioral data, and identifying systematic behavioral drivers.

Our work is driven by our three-pronged mission: To continue developing our social norms framework and provide cutting-edge theory for practical applications, to educate partners and the public about how to use the framework for positive behavioral change, and to work directly with organizations to develop measures and design interventions tailored to the social networks, norms, and behaviors they aim to impact. DUTIES/JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The administrative coordinator would provide secretarial, administrative, budgetary, and clerical support to the activity of the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics and ensure effective and efficient daily office operations. Details include organizing events and conferences, maintaining files and databases, corresponding with other departments at the university, and handling hiring logistics for new staff including visa administration. They would also do work on post-award grant budget administration, dealing with travel logistics and reimbursements for our Director, handle overseeing the Center's two student workers, and website maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Degree with 5 to 7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is require. Bachelor's degree and previous experience in an administrative support role strongly preferred.
  • Required: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Required: Experience with planning events and conference logistics
  • Preferred: Experience working with (e.g., designing, updating) websites
  • Preferred: Experience working with and tracking budgets especially with grants
  • Preferred: Experience in standard Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
