Administrative Support Associate - 002125
Position Summary:
The administrative support associate (ASA) works with the administrative support specialist to manage the daily activities in the School of Teaching and Learning (STL) and Suite 201, the colleges student support services unit. They are responsible for facilitating and supporting events, programs, and functions associated with the School and Suite. They foster a positive and student-centered climate for the office environment. They respond to questions and inquiries about policy and procedural matters for students and faculty. They are responsible for managing grant administration and account activity associated with STL and Suite 201. They are responsible for setting up and maintaining a communication and secure filing system for student action plans and general correspondence. The ASA assists with scheduling and organizing meetings and maintaining minutes. They help maintain the department website and supervise student workers.
This position will be the first point of contact for the Catamount School, WCUs laboratory school, for WCU administrative functions and will provide staff training and oversight for the School on matters related to purchasing, Catamart, p-card, general budget record keeping and reconciliation of expenditures. This position will act as liaison between the School of Teaching and Learning and the Catamount School for administrative needs, as well as, liaise with the CEAP Deans Office as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be organized, efficient and able to work independently. Ability to compose and clearly convey information, write reports and express ideas through a variety of media. Possess excellent technology skills and be competent in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). Possess an understanding of services, policies and procedures related to a program or area of specialization, ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of office support tasks, and explain and interpret information to faculty, students, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
