Administrative Support Associate
Primary Purpose of the Organization
The primary goal of the Office of Admission at Fayetteville State University is to attract and enroll a diverse student body that represents a wide range of geographic, religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
To do so, the Office of Admission will work closely with alumni and other constituencies to support recruitment efforts while promoting excellent customer service & transparency about the admission process.
Primary Purpose of the Position
The Front Desk associate will be the first contact point for those seeking information about Fayetteville State University. S/He will be the primary liaison to admission staff and other university offices. S/He will be expected to answer questions and direct queries to the appropriate department as necessary while maintaining the email account for the Office of Admission. Additionally, s/he will oversee the office's campus tour program, plan two on-campus events hosted by the office each year, and manage our work-study and student ambassadors. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Knowledge skills and abilities
- Ability to handle several projects at once with keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with survey creation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Positive attitude and good sense of humor.
- Flexibility in working independently and within team constructs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Higher Education Admissions office.
- Two to three years of experience in an administrative setting.
