Organizational Unit Overview:
Academic Affairs ('AA') is headed by the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs who serves as the institutions Chief Academic Officer ('CAO') and is responsible for administering academic policies. AA is comprised of each of the universitys colleges, schools, and libraries, along with other academic support and administrative units, to include Learner Operations, Research, Innovation and Engagement, Institutional Planning, Assessment and Research, and Global Affairs. Academic Affairs works collaboratively to strengthen ECUs culture of academic excellence in line with our mission to be a national model for student success, public service, and regional transformation.
The Undergraduate Admissions Office is the primary point of contact for a traditional first year student, transfer, or non-traditional adult student seeking admission to East Carolina University. The office is responsible for identifying and recruiting potential applicants with outstanding academic ability and potential and assisting in the application process to completion
Job Duties:
Provide outstanding customer service to guests who call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Answer phones and provide timely and accurate information or direct caller to the appropriate ECU office. Use CRM system to look up application status to verify receipt of transcripts and relevant information and accurately convey status to visitors, as needed.
Assist with greeting in-person visitors to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Greet, triage and direct visitors to appropriate place, staff, or information. This can include receiving transcripts and other application materials, verifying application status, providing general campus directions, or contacting other staff to provide additional information.
Help respond to general Admissions email account to include responding to questions, downloading transcripts, and directing emails to the appropriate staff member. Assisting with other office duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
