Admissions Advisor

Represent UW Oshkosh at high schools, community colleges, college fairs, and other outreach events.

Lead on-campus and virtual information sessions, open houses, and workshops.

Cultivate strong relationships with school counselors, community leaders, and influencers.

Serve as the primary contact for students and families from your territory.

Admissions Counseling & Application Review

• Advise prospective students and families on admissions policies, academic offerings, financial aid, and student life.
  
  
• Evaluate freshman and transfer applications through holistic review.
  
  
• Provide guidance on transfer credit, residency, and re-admission processes.
  
  
• Respond to inquiries promptly via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
  
  

Event Planning & Communications

• Assist in planning and executing recruitment and yield events, both in-person and virtual.
  
  
• Contribute to marketing efforts through social media and other digital platforms to engage prospective students.
  
  

Data & Territory Management

• Utilize CRM reports and dashboards and Enrollment IQ to manage and analyze territory data.
  
  
• Track engagement trends to optimize outreach and recruitment strategies.
  
  
• Audit and maintain student records; assess recruitment effectiveness based on established goals.
  
  
• Use data to personalize communication and outreach to priority student groups.
  
  

Professional Engagement & Office Support

• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  
  
• Serve on departmental and university committees, as assigned.
  
  
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement in admissions operations.
  
  

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities

• Engages in extensive outreach and recruitment events, representing the university to prospective students

• Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission

• Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences

• Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals

• Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement

• Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution

• Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events

• Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications according to established policies and procedures

• May supervise staff and/or lead a program area

Starting at $43,888 commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable with CRM and data systems.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to fostering access, inclusion, and student success across a broad range of backgrounds and experieneces.
• Valid driver's license for at least two years and willingness to travel (including overnights and weekends).
• Access to reliable internet for occasional remote work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred)
• Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field.
• Experience in college admissions, advising, or student recruitment.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Enrollment IQ, CRM or comparable systems.
• Knowledge o fthe UW System and the educational landscape of Wisconsin.
