Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Admissions team is responsible for administering domestic and international admission applications on behalf of the University. Under the supervision of a Team Leader, the team of Admissions Officers carries out the day-to-day operation of the office which includes assessment of applications, general administration, and advice and guidance to students, staff and external organisations. The role of Admissions Officer is interesting and varied, and we are looking for someone enthusiastic and motivated to join our busy team in the Matariki Building, Ilam Campus.

You will be a positive and confident individual who works well as part of a team. To be successful in this role, you will pride yourself on having:

  • an in-depth understanding of a university environment including knowledge of tertiary qualifications and their relevant equivalences. Knowledge of NZ qualification Framework and tertiary qualification - desirable
  • experience working with UC's student management system - Jade SMS and ourUC
  • experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations and procedures accurately and consistently
  • excellent organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines and set priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively
  • sound research and analytical skills that support your logical decision-making
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • initiative and ability to work both independently and within a team
  • advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and large enterprise systems. knowledge of tertiary institutional systems - desirable
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and abide by the requirements for New Zealand Privacy legislation
