Job Description
Great Basin College is recruiting for an Admissions & Records Assistant 2 position for the Admissions and Records Office. This position will assist the student body with applying for admissions, registering for classes, accurately update student records; assist with questions regarding current NSHE and GBC policy for drop dates, last date to enroll, grades and GPA, course prerequisites; answer the Admissions Office main line; monitor the Admissions Office email accounts by responding to questions and concerns in a timely manner; maintain the admissions application process within Peoplesoft daily to expedite new student applications through PeopleSoft and the shared instance system; process all outgoing official transcript orders through the National Student Clearinghouse site daily; maintain the digital scanning storage system, OnBase, for all student records; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of clerical experience, one of which was in a college admissions and/or records office or relevant student services area which included maintaining student information, data entry, reviewing applications and student contact; OR
- One (1) year of experience as an Admissions & Records Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with excellent customer service skills, proficiency using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, experience with record keeping and data entry, multitasking and/or working under pressure are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; though occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 25
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.

Classified Staff Grant-In-Aid Benefit
Great Basin College is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to Classified employees and their eligible dependents. Classified employees can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of Classified staff have unlimited credits at Great Basin College, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
