Admissions & Records Specialist II
Job Summary
The Admissions & Records Specialist II has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, application processing and registration of traditional, dual credit and inmate student populations. The Admissions & Records Specialist II is also responsible for providing customer service support in the Admissions & Records Department, to students and parents and providing administrative support to campus and inmate faculty regarding registration. This is a full-time position that reports to the LSCPA’s Admissions & Records Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Process and maintain inmate applications, registrations and records for credit and non-credit students
- Process applications for admission to Lamar State College – Port Arthur and related submitted documentation
- Verify each applicant attendance through National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
- Run class rolls, grades and maintain records for inmate sections
- Process transcript requests received from students, inmate instruction, and dual credit departments
- Process address, date of birth, phone number, and Emergency Number Changes
- Resolve Duplicate PIDMs
- Required to provide customer service for the department by working the counter and answering phones
- Assist all students with registration
- Assist students during registration events and new student orientation
- Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- One (1) year of experience in student services (related student work and/or internship experience will be considered)
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner
- Bilingual Spanish
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements: This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on and off campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week. Occasional evenings and weekends.
