About the role
The Advancement Coordinator supports AUT’s philanthropic ambitions by building strong donor relationships, coordinating scholarships and awards, and delivering high-quality operational and communications support across AUT Foundation activities.
Based within the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, this is a dynamic, relationship-focused role where you’ll act as a central connector across donor engagement, projects, and stakeholders, helping create a seamless and professional experience for partners, donors, and the AUT community.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate donor stewardship, communications, and Foundation administration
- Support scholarships and awards, including partner onboarding and recipient coordination
- Maintain donor data and insights within CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge)
- Contribute to events, fundraising initiatives, and Foundation projects
- Manage Foundation communications, including digital channels and reporting
- Provide advice and support on philanthropic giving across AUT

You’ll work across a wide range of stakeholders – from faculties and senior leaders to donors and external partners – contributing to scholarship programmes, fundraising campaigns, and strategic initiatives.

As a professional staff member at AUT, you’ll play a vital role in supporting continuous improvement — from enhancing services and streamlining processes to contributing to positive experiences for students, staff, and donors. You’ll bring an open, engaging, and collaborative approach, actively contributing to a collegial environment, and demonstrate cultural awareness, humility, and respect in working with Māori and diverse communities. Experience supporting a number of Stakeholders and Managing relationships with strong administrative experience is preferred.
