Job Description:
The University Facilities Management Department is seeking a motivated and dependable entry-level HVAC technician to join our maintenance team. This position assists with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across campus buildings.
Job Duties:
- Assist senior technicians with preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of air handling units, exhaust fans, boilers, chillers, split systems, and related equipment.
- Change filters, belts, bearings, and other maintenance components as required.
- Monitor and document equipment performance and operating conditions.
- Respond to service requests and support campus work orders.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical HVAC system issues.
- Follow all university safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Support emergency response activities related to HVAC system failures or building comfort issues.
- Participate in training programs and continuing education opportunities.
Additional Information to Applicants:
Must be available and willing to work after-hours, on-call duty on a rotating basis with other shop personnel.
