The Department of Chemical Engineering welcomes applications for the post of Analytical Services Technician.
Location: South Kensington Campus, London
Salary: £41,005 to £45,616 per annum
Hours: Full Time

About the role: The postholder will assist the Head of Analytical Services and their team in delivering the day-to-day operations of the Analytical Services Laboratory (ASL) in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The postholder will be part of the team employed in the ASL and carry out a range of specialist technical support tasks and provide training for a range of instruments hosted in the ASL to staff and students.
What you would be doing: Assist in operating and maintaining analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, DSC, and gas sorption analysis.
What we are looking for: BSc, BTech (or equivalent), with completion of a recognised laboratory technician training scheme. Proven experience in collecting, processing, interpreting and presenting data obtained from laboratory equipment. Basic knowledge of analytical equipment and experience in operating techniques. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health & Safety regulations and procedures. Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
