Position Overview
The Division of Anatomy at Ohio State University College of Medicine (OSUMC) in Columbus, OH invites applications for Lecturer, Assistant or Associate Professor Rank full-time faculty position with a specific focus on Undergraduate anatomy. Qualified candidates are expected to have earned a doctorate in Anatomy or related field and possess a strong record of excellence in undergraduate education, administration and pedagogy. The candidate should have teaching experience with expertise in human gross anatomy and be capable of potentially teaching courses including: 1) dissection, 2) histology 3) embryology and/or 4) neuroanatomy, with the potential to contribute to other electives within the Anatomy Minor Program. Successful candidates are expected to have a strong record of scholarly activity that includes peer-reviewed publications commensurate with their level of development and engage in collaborative research. Our goal is to create an integrated undergraduate bachelors experience, including lecture, lab, and scholarship.
Performance Objectives
- Full-time teaching load in undergraduate anatomy lecture and laboratory courses with a specific focus in human anatomy. Responsibilities will include collaborating with other faculty on curriculum development within anatomy courses in a team-based environment.
- Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional students in research projects in the applicants area of expertise.
- No clinical responsibilities or efforts are afforded for this position.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
- Doctorate in the anatomical sciences or equivalent.
- Evidence of familiarity with human dissection-based teaching.
- Evidence of potential for successful teaching at the college/university level.
- Strong written, verbal, and interprofessional skills.
- An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff, and administrators to develop improvement of educational experiences for our students.
Desired:
- Preference will be given to those applicants with human laboratory instructional experience.
- Preference will be given to those candidates who have evidence of strong collaboration in education with other applied academic health sciences departments.
