Animal Attendant

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable, energetic and motivated Animal Attendant to support the care, welfare and day-to-day management of animals housed within the School of Veterinary Science facilities at the UQ Gatton campus.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing high standards of animal care, welfare, hygiene and husbandry across kennels, condominiums, isolation units and associated facilities.
• Preparing animal diets, managing laundry and maintaining clean, safe and compliant work environments.
• Assisting with the movement, handling and care of animals, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Supporting undergraduate practical classes, workshops and seminars, including providing instruction in animal welfare, husbandry and behaviour under academic supervision.
