Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
This position does require holidays/weekends on a rotating basis and would be considered essential in inclement weather.
Job Summary
Performs routine duties associated with animal care in a research setting. Completes daily health observations, feeding, watering, and cleaning associated with laboratory species.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observes animal behavior and conditions, feeds and waters animals, maintains sanitary conditions, collects specimens, and aids research and veterinary personnel
- Reports clinical health observations to the Attending Veterinarian or supervisory personnel in the appropriate manner
- Performs routine duties associated with animal care, including restraining, medicating, and cleaning
- May assist in maintaining animal housing areas and facilities
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience
Previous experience with animal care or equivalent related experience.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Employees may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

This is not a supervisory position.
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
This position will not be required to drive.
This role is considered a position of trust.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position will not travel.
