About the Job
Project Coordinator will be responsible for collection management and planning for the preparation of collections affected by the Fire Suppression System construction and Libraries' collections move by rehousing material for preservation and storage enhancement; oversee the move of collections from the Andersen Mezzanine and High bay areas, and off-site storage to Andersen; addressing significant oversize collections impacted by the move; conducting shelf reads to ensure adequate location control before the move and confirm all archival material is updated in the CMS for better management control. The Project Coordinator will supervise student positions related to the collection move. The Project Coordinator will report to the Head of Archival Processing and work cooperatively with Libraries and Archives staff involved in coordinating the collections moves.
The Project Coordinator position is a 1 year, full-time, position for the University of Minnesota Archives and Special Collections, a Department of the University of Minnesota Libraries. Depending on available funding there is the possibility of an additional year.
Work schedule is full-time, Monday-Friday during open hours of Andersen Library. Most work must be completed on-site, but there is flexibility for some hybrid work when necessary; subject to University approval and management discretion.

Archival Collection Management (70%)
- Survey collections in preparation for moves
- Update collection guides with location metadata using ArchivesSpace
- Create new location data for import into ArchivesSpace
- Label new and existing shelves with location data in preparation for collection moves
