Art History Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool

Basic Function

Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The starting salary range is $67.00/hour.

Representative Duties

The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of Art History courses. This assignment may include teaching at off-campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distant learning and multiple teaching methodologies. This assignment is designed for using multiple teaching methodologies in our incarcerated student programs at the California City Correctional Facility and the Tehachapi California Correctional Institution.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Art History, History of Art and Architecture, or visual culture/visual studies; OR Bachelor's degree in Art History AND Master's degree in History; OR Master's degree in Art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in Art History; OR Possession of a valid credential, which authorizes the full-time teaching of Art at the California community college level; OR The equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
