Job Summary

The Department of Psychology and Education in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Education. The Department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development, and academic advising.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Education
• Supervise senior study and MA thesis students
• Supervise practicum experiences
• Advise and mentor students
• Engage in service to the program, department, the university and the profession
• Contribute to the development of the program and seek external grants
• Contribute to the department’s goals of research and publication
• Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

• A PhD/ Ed.D. in Education from a well-recognized university
• Evidence of successful teaching experiences at schools (K – 12).
• Evidence of scholarship and research productivity.
• Evidence of an established research agenda.

Preferred qualifications

• Teaching Science Education courses at the university level is a plus.
• Evidence of success in securing external funding for research.

The Psychology and Education Department is one of the 9 departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Education, a B.A. in Psychology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Education, a Diploma in Learning Disability and Giftedness, and various Teaching Diplomas (TD).
