Ashton B. Carter Visiting Professorship
The Harvard Kennedy School seeks applicants for the Ashton B. Carter Visiting Professorship and invites applications for its inaugural incumbent. The position provides an opportunity for a scholar or practitioner from the public or private sector – with demonstrated academic scholarship, intellectual engagement, and/or exceptional professional experience at the nexus of emerging technology, scientific advancement, defense innovation, and global policy – to contribute to research, convening, teaching, and student engagement at Harvard Kennedy School as a Visiting Professor or Visiting Professor of Practice.
The visiting professor or practitioner will be in residence at the Harvard Kennedy School for one or two semesters and will be expected to collaborate with HKS faculty and fellows and participate in the intellectual life of the community. Visiting Professors, Lecturers, or Professors of Practice who are teaching must be in residence during the semester in which they teach, consistent with HKS faculty handbook requirements.
The appointed candidate will be affiliated with and supported by the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
