Position Summary
The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) is seeking an Assessment Coordinator to support the Educator Preparation Program. The Assessment Coordinator manages the development and maintenance of an assessment system for the Educator Preparation Program (EPP). This coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing assessment and evaluation processes to measure performance or learning within the department. The Assessment Coordinator will also oversee the collection and analysis of data on student outcomes and unit operations to support decision-making, improvement efforts, and reporting to the department, university, state agencies, and accrediting bodies. The role is an eleven-month appointment and includes other duties as assigned, except during periods when the unit and departments are preparing for accreditation visits.
Responsibilities of the Assessment Coordinator include:
- Compile and analyze data to prepare reports for both internal uses and external requirements essential to the administrative and academic functions of CASE.
- Prepare essential reports, including annual submissions to the federal government, state agencies, and for the university’s Institutional Research needs.
- Remain current on reporting requirements for the Professional Education Data System (PEDS or Title II), the American Council of Teacher Education (AACTE), the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) annual report for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI), and for the UNC System Office of the President.
- Maintain accuracy of EPP data to execute comprehensive assessment plans and strategies, ensuring alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data to identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement within the Educator Preparation program.
- Communicate actionable findings, both verbally and in writing, to stakeholders internally and externally.
- Support and train faculty and staff in effective assessment methodologies.
