Assessor/ICDFR QSSB (UEC)
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Faculty Assessment Lead, the Assessor will be responsible for conducting ERS (Environment Rating Scale) and/or CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) assessments for sites in Riverside County and San Bernardino County participating in the QRIS.

The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, Staff, Part Time, Non-Benefited position through 6/30/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Salary: $24.00 per hour. Location: Various school sites throughout Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Work Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be determined.
Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Project Analyst for Quality Start programs, the Assessor will work independently to: Use the CLASS Observation to conduct assessments at various childcare centers. An assessment involves observation of a teacher/teachers in a classroom, recording and documenting these observations, and finally, utilizing the observations to provide feedback (scored and anecdotal) on the quality of the teacher(s) interactions with children. This feedback is shared with a team of coaches, who use it to highlight the strengths of the classroom and provide opportunities to increase the quality of care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Experience: A minimum of a master's degree in child psychology, child development, clinical counseling, or related field (e.g., social work, etc.) is required. Applicants may be currently enrolled in a master's program. Professional work experience in a classroom setting.
- Other: Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Applicant must have the ability to work independently and display a professional manner. Experience in child and family intervention or a related field. Live Scan and background check will be required. Transportation required to school sites in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
