The C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston seeks qualified applicants for two tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, Full Professor in the department of Accountancy and Taxation, starting in the fall of 2026. Candidates must hold or are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Accounting by June 2026, have an excellent record of or exhibit promise for high-quality research, and have a high level of teaching competence.

The Bauer College is one of the largest AACSB-accredited business programs in the country. With over 6,200 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students, the College offers B.B.A., M.B.A., M.S. degrees; and Ph.D. degrees in Accounting, Finance, Management & Leadership, MIS, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management fields. In recent years, Bauer has distinguished itself as one of the world’s leading business schools, with top-ranked programs and leading faculty research. Our full-time MBA program is consistently ranked at the top 30 among public schools. Poets & Quants 2024 Best Undergraduate Business Schools list ranks our undergraduate program 15th among public schools and 41st overall.

The Accountancy & Taxation department has been successful in hosting excellent researchers and its faculty have published a large number of studies in leading accounting journals. According to the 2023 BYU accounting research rankings, our department ranks 22nd and 40th in analytical modeling and archival research respectively over the last 12 years. The department is separately accredited by the AACSB and offers innovative programs. The Professional Program in Accountancy enables outstanding students to obtain their B.B.A. and M.S. degrees in five years. The M.S. in Accountancy program has over 200 students that are highly sought after by top public accounting firms and industry. The Internal Audit Program is one of only seven programs in the world recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
