Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Public Health
Job Details
The Department of Public and Environmental Wellness invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Public Health. We seek a scholar with an established or emerging program of externally funded research that advances contemporary public health practice and policy within an interdisciplinary department integrating Public Health and Environmental Health and Safety.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Health policy, administration, and management
- Public health systems, policy analysis and implementation, and program evaluation
- Prevention science
- Population health
- Implementation and translational science
- Data-informed public health decision-making
- Leadership roles in newly formed academic programs
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain a productive, externally funded research program with a clear trajectory toward sustained grant activity
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives linking population health, implementation, and translational science with policy development and evaluation
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate public health courses, including health policy and management and related core content
- Develop advanced electives aligned with research expertise
- Mentor students in research and applied public health practice
- Engage in service at the department, university, and professional levels
School/College & Department/Program Summary
The School of Health Sciences serves approximately 2,000 undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and post-professional students through a model emphasizing community-engaged translational partnerships and the integration of theory with best practices. The School is organized into four thematic departments:
- Public and Environmental Wellness
- Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
- Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences
- Human Movement Science

Minimum Qualifications:
A qualified candidate for the rank of Assistant Professor will have an earned doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field by the beginning date of employment, demonstrated evidence of high-quality scholarly research, and the potential to successfully compete for external research funding. A qualified candidate for the rank of Associate Professor will have an earned doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field, a successful track record of competitive external funding in support of research and as an independent scholar, and a teaching record commensurate with experience. A qualified candidate for Full Professor will have earned a doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field, a successful track record of competitive external funding in support of research and as an independent scholar, national recognition for their contributions to their discipline; and evidence of excellence in teaching, service, and leadership.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in grant acquisition, experience contributing to collaborative or multi-investigator funding proposals, and a research agenda that investigates public health policy and leadership potential for newly formed academic programs.
