Position title: Neurocritical Care Research Lead
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $192,000 - $320,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description
The Department of Neurosciences (https://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body.
UCSD Health, San Diego's exclusive academic health care system, is committed to advancing the care of neurocritical care patients through exemplary clinical care and cutting-edge research.
We are seeking accomplished candidates for the position of Neurocritical Care Research Lead in our expanding Neurocritical Care Program. Mid-career and senior neurointensivists are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the research leadership of UCSD's Neurocritical Care Program
- Attend 8-12 flexible weeks on service in UCSD's Neuro-ICUs
- Provide high-quality teaching and training to students, residents, and fellows

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree, be Board certified in Neurocritical Care, and have a minimum of three years of experience as an attending Neurocritical Care physician.
Candidates must also possess, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
