Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $300,000 - $500,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is seeking to expand its Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) Division through the recruitment of an OBGYN-URPS physician with a focus on supporting the division's clinical and teaching missions and engaging in opportunities to develop leadership within these programs.
The selected candidate will serve as Co-Clinical Medical Director of our multidisciplinary outpatient Women's Pelvic Medicine Center, partnering in the strategic and clinical direction of the program. The selected candidate will also serve as Associate Program Director of the jointly administered UC San Diego and Kaiser Permanente URPS Fellowship Program, with the expectation of ultimately assuming the role of Fellowship Program Director. The selected candidate will devote approximately 60-80% effort to clinical URPS practice. Additional responsibilities include teaching medical students, training residents and fellows, mentoring resident and fellow research projects, supporting the development of junior faculty, and participating in administrative activities of the division, department, and University.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree.
- Candidates must be board certified in General Obstetrics & Gynecology and board eligible or certified in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS).
- Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Preferred qualifications
- Candidates with at least 2 years of post-fellowship experience in URPS are preferred.
- Candidates with experience in scholarship and leadership activities are preferred.
- Candidates with experience in delivering high-quality clinical care, promoting patient safety and patient satisfaction, and contributing to education and research are preferred.
