Assistant, Associate or Professor - Department of Occupational Therapy
The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba invites applications for two full-time tenured/probationary positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank, commencing January 1, 2026, or on a mutually agreed date. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department seeks scholars committed to excellence in teaching and research. Exceptional candidates at any rank will be considered based on the outlined responsibilities and qualifications.
Requirements:
- PhD or PhD (all-but-dissertation).
- Minimum two years of occupational therapy practice required; five or more years preferred.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba required.
- Evidence of participation in community-related engagement, volunteerism, or service required.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and applying multiple worldviews in health professional teaching.
Preferred:
- Substantial research experience or practice knowledge in child health, children’s rehabilitation, mental health, or health services policy.
- Experience in quantitative research, epidemiology, and statistics.
- Experience completing and leading research applicable to occupational therapy.
- History of leadership in OT practice, community or professional service, or organizational management.
- Post-secondary teaching experience in higher education.
- Experience in course coordination and teaching in small or large groups.
- Evidence of a well-developed research interest or identifiable research program.
- Evidence of Indigenous knowledge application in curriculum development, implementation, or research, focusing on worldviews of Indigenous peoples in Manitoba.
The Department has six full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members and six instructors, offering a professional graduate program in Occupational Therapy. Faculty also participate in the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences and the PhD in Applied Health Sciences. Further information is available at Department of Occupational Therapy.
The College of Rehabilitation Sciences focuses on research, education, and service to systematically oppressed communities within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.
