Seeking faculty eager to advance the nursing profession through the integration of teaching, scholarship, practice, and service. Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in nursing or related discipline. If the earned doctorate is not in nursing, the master's degree must be in nursing. If the doctorate was earned via a BSN to doctorate, the doctorate must be in nursing and the requirement for a master's degree is waived
  • Unincumbered Michigan RN License (or licensed RN in another state that will require application to Michigan State Board of Nursing for Michigan licensure)
  • Evidence of area of expertise and an identified program of scholarship
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Minimum of one-year teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate levels

Responsibilities:

Expectations of the position include teaching, scholarship, and service, with opportunities for professional practice as desired, including:

  • Integrating Kirkhof College of Nursing philosophy and organizing framework into classroom and clinical teaching
  • Maintaining professional knowledge through critical reviews of evidence-based best practices, professional seminars, workshops, webinars, and conferences.
  • Application of learning from professional development to the academic and clinical practice settings.
  • Adherence to the GVSU Standards of Conduct Policy
  • Incorporating the principles of inter-professional education and collaborative practice as defined by the Inter-professional Education Collaborative (IPEC)
  • Embedding principles of community/partner engagement to enhance the teaching, scholarship, service, and practice expectations in the college

Minimum Starting Salary:

  • Assistant Professor: $80,000 commensurate with experience (9-month); $90,000 commensurate with experience (12-month)
  • Associate Professor: $92,000 commensurate with experience (9-month); $110,400 commensurate with experience (12-month)

Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, generous employer retirement contributions, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
