General Description

The Center for Equity in Aging at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (SON) has an immediate opening for one post-doctoral fellow to work on state policies and data resources related to dementia care through the State Alzheimer's Research Support Center (StARS).This is an excellent opportunity for a fellow to assist states and state partner organizations in expanding data resource capabilities to facilitate state-based integrated and coordinated dementia care services, programs and policies. The fellow will specifically support the data core and research innovation core and work directly with states and partner organizations focused on dementia care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support pilot core application cycle activities including study sections and materials review.
  • Lead and co-author manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
  • Create website and digital media materials for StARS cores.
  • Develop products such as toolkits, infographics, chartbooks in collaboration with states.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in gerontology, nursing and geriatrics.
  • Participate in grant proposal development to support the expansion of the research program and the fellow's own research interests.
  • Supervise and mentor research assistants.

The initial appointment is for one year; renewal for a second year is expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) in public health, epidemiology, health services, health policy, gerontology, nursing or social work.
  • Evidence of strong methodological skills (published manuscripts).
  • Proven ability to communicate findings to both academic and lay audiences, and to work effectively within multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and able to balance independent research with teamwork across multiple projects.

NOTE: This role may be fully remote with supervisor approval. Fellow must be able to commute to Johns Hopkins University (at their own expense) at least twice per year for in-person events.

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
