Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant/ Associate Professor is expected to provided students’ instruction, advising, curriculum development, program design, and lead/conduct research activities including published articles/books.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses as assigned. Minimum teaching load is twenty-four credit hours annually. Courses are delivered face-to-face, online, and hybrid.
- Maintain required office hours and provide academic advisement to assigned students.
- Participate in the development, review, and improvement of curriculum.
- Participate in departmental, college-wide, and university-wide committees and activities.
- Serve as faculty advisor for a student organization.
- Work collaboratively with other faculty on schedule development, marketing events, student and faculty recruitment, retention efforts, and other departmental or college-wide activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in content area or closely related with at least 18 graduate credit hours from a regionally accredited university.
- Considerable professional experience in the discipline at a high managerial or supervisory level.
- Commitment to teaching excellence, innovative curriculum development and academic advising for students in the college.
- Willingness to teach at both the main campus and the CSU Dayton location.
- Demonstrate potential for developing publishable research.
- Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to use technology in instruction and advising.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or earned doctorate in related discipline.
- Experience in developing and teaching online courses.
- Demonstrated ability to generate grant proposal.
- A record of published research in peer-reviewed journals.
