Salary/Pay Range: $41,295 - $52,000 annually.
Summary
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Medicine, Director of Athletics, and Team Physicians, the Assistant Athletic Trainer supports comprehensive athletic medicine services through injury care, medical coordination, recordkeeping, and daily clinic operations while contributing to athlete wellbeing and performance outcomes across intercollegiate programs. This athletic trainer will cover women's volleyball and women's softball.
Essential Functions
- 55% Manage all aspects of prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for approximately 370 student-athletes at UCCS and on the road.
- 25% Maintain updated files and accurate medical records of the following: athletic injuries, medical insurance, medical history, injury referrals, conditioning programs, schedules, and other necessary data.
- 10% Maintain regular clear communication between athletic medicine staff, coaches, student athletes, and other UCCS employees as needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the student athletes.
- 5% Coordinate clinical and physician appointments between the athlete and UCHealth or outside referral.
- 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have an Undergraduate degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field of study.
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification for Athletic Trainer, Colorado State athletic training licensure and CPR/AED is required.
- Must have experience in athletic injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- A master's degree in related field is preferred.
