KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the assistant athletic trainer will discharge the following responsibilities:
- Assist in administering the University's Athletic Training Services program
- Evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries for our NCAA student-athletes
- Provide expert review and documentation of injuries
- Refer for appropriate medical care, as needed
- Travel with teams, as assigned
- Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies for the athletic training room
- Serve as a preceptor for athletic training students and interns
- Complete and file all required paperwork and electronic documentation
- Maintain positive relations with local health care providers
- Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies
- Demonstrate a high level of motivation with strong interpersonal skills
- Participate in committees and provide service to the Department, University, and Profession
This is an SL-2, full-time, 10-month, term-appointed, professional position. The start date will be negotiated with the final candidate and be no later than August 1, 2026. The salary range for this position is $45,000-$48,000, commensurate with experience. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Current certification from NATA Board of Certification
- CPR/AED/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- Must be licensed/eligible for New York State licensure
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights and weekends when necessary
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to work towards departmental objectives
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass LENS certification
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission
- Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field with prior athletic training experience
- Prior experience at the Division III level
