Description
The UNE Bachelor of Social Work program is part of the UNE School of Social Work which offers BSW, MSW, and DSW degrees. The BSW program is a fully on campus program located on UNE's Biddeford, Maine campus. It also falls under the undergraduate Health Promotion Studies Department which includes majors in Public Health, Nutrition, Occupational Studies and Social Work, representing a commitment to interprofessional education and practice.
The University New England Bachelor of Social Work Program (UNE BSW) invites applications for a 10-month, BSW Program Director/Assistant Clinical-track Professor position. We seek a diverse pool of candidates committed to preparing undergraduate social work students for the dynamic challenges of our changing world.

Responsibilities
Fifty percent (50%) of the position is dedicated to the role of the BSW Program Director. The BSW Program Director ensures the integrity of all aspects of the BSW program; establishes strong and enduring partnerships within the university and community; ensures recruitment and retention of students; adheres to the CSWE policies; provides leadership in the ongoing development of the program. The BSW Program Director oversees BSW faculty and the Practicum Director.
Fifty percent (50%) of the BSW Program Director position is dedicated to teaching. Responsibilities include teaching in-person at our Biddeford, Maine campus. Additional responsibilities include advising students; innovative curriculum development with a focus on experiential, case-based learning; and engaging in service activities within and outside of UNE. Candidates should have experience or the ability to teach a range of core courses across social work generalist curriculum including Social Welfare Policy, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, and Social Work Generalist Practice.
- Teach 3 courses each academic year.
- Build, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with other faculty.
- Oversee all aspects of the BSW program, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Director of the Health Promotion Studies Department on oversight of the BSW budget.
- Supervise BSW faculty and BSW Practicum Director.
- Ensure leadership at the program, college, and university level.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of students.
- Revision and continuous improvement of the curriculum.
- Oversee assessment of the curriculum.
- Student advising.
- Engage in service to the college and university.
- Submit reports and documentation to CSWE as required.
- Lead accreditation process.
Qualifications
- Master of Social Work degree is required. A DSW or PhD in Social Work or related field is preferred.
- Collaborative leadership and facilitation skills, mentorship, advocacy, openness, and proven ability to work across disciplines.
- A strong commitment to social work and social work education are essential.
- Experience in teaching at a university or social work program.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate through academic or other complex systems and/or organizations.
- Program development experience.
- Personnel management experience.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- 5 years proven progressive administrative or direct service social work practice experience.
- Experience with CSWE accreditation preferred.
