Assistant Clinical Research Assistant (ACRC)
The Department of Neurology at Stanford University is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Assistant (ACRC) to join the Stanford Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) team. The ACRC will be part of the Biomarker Core that analyzes tissue and other biological samples from study patients in the Stanford ADRC. Responsibilities include receiving whole blood samples and cerebrospinal fluid samples from many different study patients, keeping an inventory of these samples, processing and maintaining the database, and other duties as assigned. Specimens provided by the Clinical Core are processed and analyzed within the Biomarker Core. The ACRC will be expected to work closely with other members of the research team and the supervisor to adhere to the clinical protocols, follow policies and procedures, make modifications as appropriate, and maintain good record-keeping. The successful candidate will possess the flexibility to work off hours and will maintain frequent communication with the supervisor. Additional responsibilities include ordering supplies, maintaining lab records, and adhering to safety regulations.

Duties include:
- Perform clerical duties in the preparation of regulatory documents. Maintain all forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. File all appropriate correspondence.
- Prepare, process, and ship specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements.
- Order and maintain equipment and supplies.

Desired Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as Biology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Hands-on Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience with the repetitive handling of blood and other fluids is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Database Proficiency: Experience with the Redcap database or similar equivalent databases is desired, showcasing your ability to manage and analyze data effectively.
- Research Experience: Prior laboratory research experience, whether in an academic or industrial setting, is highly desirable and reflects a strong foundation in experimental techniques and scientific methodology.
- Record-Keeping and Organizational Skills: Meticulous record-keeping and exceptional organizational skills are essential, as they ensure the accuracy and reliability of research data.
- Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail in all laboratory techniques is crucial to maintaining the integrity of experiments and data.
- Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment are vital for data interpretation and decision-making during experiments.
- Team Collaboration: The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential, as this role requires close coordination with colleagues to conduct experiments successfully.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work after hours is preferred, demonstrating your commitment to completing experiments and meeting project deadlines.
- Time Management: Proficiency in time management is crucial for this role. The ideal candidate excels at precise time management and can adeptly navigate complex scheduling demands, ensuring that experiments are conducted efficiently and according to established schedules

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Two-year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
General knowledge of medical terminology and Redcap DB
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine light/fine grasping.
- Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The expected pay range for this position is $29.44 to $33.26 per hour.
