Stanford Athletics seeks a qualified individual for the full-time position of Assistant Coach, Wrestling, who will report to the Matt Gentry Head Wrestling Coach. The assistant coach will assist the head coach in the administration of all aspects of the wrestling program. This is a fixed-term position with the contract date being May 31, 2027.
Your responsibilities include:
- Instructing and coaching student-athletes, practice planning, video coordination, and recruiting
- Must be able and willing to drill and live wrestle on a daily basis at a Division I level
- Coordinating team travel logistics
- Assisting with organization required for visiting teams, recruits, and other activities/events
- Assisting with wrestling program marketing/promotions and alumni development
- Assisting and monitoring student-athlete academic progress
- Assisting with the organization and administration of summer camps
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of coaching experience. Division I collegiate or professional coaching experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers, and the general public
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks under deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities in order to perform a high volume of detailed work with constant interruptions.
- Flexibility and willingness to work as a team player.
- Computer literacy with common office applications, such as Word and Excel required
- Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of Stanford University, ACC Conference, and NCAA
- Ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with a variety of staff and personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.
The expected pay range for this position is $72,500- $80,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
