"ASSISTANT DEAN FOR RESEARCH AND ACCREDITATION"

The School of Architecture and Design at LAU is seeking an Assistant Dean for Accreditation & Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the dean in strategic planning, overseeing NAAB and NASAD accreditation, development of assessment procedures, as well as contributing to developing a research culture within the school by soliciting and applying for research grants. The Assistant Dean will also represent the school on various university committees. S/he is expected to teach in their area of expertise at the reduced load of 9 credits/year, and will be hired within the Tenure-Track.

The School of Architecture and Design (http://sard.lau.edu.lb/) is dedicated to developing a design culture founded on the principles of Liberal Education, while meeting the challenges of the contemporary world. The school has an enrollment of 700 students and a full-time faculty of 30 members, distributed across two departments. The School earned accreditation for all its design programs from NASAD (2020), and for its Bachelor of Architecture from NAAB (2019).

Minimum Requirements: Candidates should have a PhD in any of the design fields, in addition to administrative experience, and specifically experience in accreditation, as well as an active research agenda, and should be currently at the rank of associate professor or above.

Duration of position: This position will start in Spring 2026, which begins on January 2, 2026 or Fall 2026, which begins on Sep. 1, 2026. The contract term for an Assistant Dean is normally for a 3-year period, renewed on a yearly basis pending satisfactory performance.
