Assistant Dean III
Position Summary:
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking an Assistant Dean III (Faculty Affairs) in the School of Arts and Sciences-Camden. This position has primary responsibility for managing complex, high-risk faculty lifecycle processes—including hiring, reappointment, tenure, promotion, leaves, and retirement—for full-time faculty and post-doctoral scholars. The role exercises independent judgment in the interpretation and application of university policy, collective bargaining agreements, and immigration requirements, and serves as a key advisor and operational partner to the Dean's Office.
The Assistant Dean III ensures compliance, continuity, and accuracy across faculty affairs operations; oversees sensitive data, reporting, and records systems; coordinates visa and immigration processing for foreign national faculty and post-doctoral scholars; and collaborates extensively with Human Resources, Rutgers Global, Academic Labor Relations, and central academic leadership. This position plays a mission-critical role in supporting faculty recruitment, retention, research productivity, and academic continuity.
Responsibilities include management of records, data systems, reporting, faculty communications, and operational processes, in compliance with institutional policies and collective bargaining agreements. This role oversees these duties while also driving process improvements and ensuring secure management of sensitive data.
The Assistant Dean III (Faculty Affairs) provides senior-level functional leadership for faculty affairs across the School of Arts and Sciences–Camden.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in administration, or related field, and five or more years of experience in higher education administration or an equal combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of payroll, labor contracts and information systems.

Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.
