About the College/Unit/Department
The UGA Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) is responsible for ensuring that UGA complies with all applicable laws and policies regarding discrimination and harassment.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director assists the Director in ensuring the University provides a fair and respectful environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors that is free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of protected categories. The Assistant Director conducts investigations of complaints of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct.
Minimum Qualifications
- Law degree (JD) from an American Bar Association accredited law school, and a member in good standing of a state bar association.
- Two years of progressive experience in the legal or compliance field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with civil rights, employment law, equal opportunity work, and/or higher education.
- Proven experience and technical expertise in investigation, resolution, and remediation of complaints of discrimination and harassment.
- Experience with building and delivering education, training, and prevention programs in areas of non-discrimination and anti-harassment.
