Job Description
Job Summary:
The Athletics Department at Rollins College is seeking a Assistant Director, Events, Facilities & Operations to join their team!
Essential Job Functions:
- Home game management:
- Responsible for hosting visiting team and officials at all home events, including but not limited to M/W Soccer, Volleyball, M/W Basketball, M/W Swimming, Baseball, Softball, and M/W Lacrosse.
- Schedule staffing for home events.
- Responsible for overseeing and training student-staff & interns.
- Oversee the daily staffing of the Alfond Sports Center, the main site for campus recreation for the full Rollins Community, including nights and weekends.
- Assist in the supervision of all gym equipment, checkout procedures, and inventory.
- Manage laundry service for athletic teams as needed for contests and practice.
- Responsible for the set-up, tear down and clean up for assigned athletic contests and running complete events to ensure goals and expectations are met for the best student-athlete and fan experience in alignment with the college, conference, and athletic department mission.
- Schedule preventative maintenance for Athletics fleet of vehicles.
- Assist Facilities/Grounds Department in weekly maintenance of Sandspur Field Turf.
- Spend an average of 2-3 hours per week performing the necessary grooming of the turf and infill, prolonging the life of the field.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Sports Management or related field.
- At least three years experience in professional and/or collegiate athletics management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize throughout the work day/week.
- Knowledge of the administration of athletic facilities, athletic apparel, and equipment storage.
- Certified in first aid, CPR & AED.
- Strong organizational skills along with the ability to effectively communicate, supervise, implement and lead. Ability to lead, supervise, train and direct student-workers and interns.
Work Environment:
- Campus-based, front-facing position, working in an office environment.
- Work requires visual strain and the use of a computer and some heavy lifting of equipment.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours associated with intercollegiate athletics, including evenings and weekends during the sports season.
